COURSE OFFERED

  1. Ayurvedacharya (B.A.M.S. – Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) 

It is 4 ½ years duration course divided into 4 parts of professional course (i.e. one year + one year+ one year + one and half years) with one year compulsory rotatory internship. The college is affiliated to The West Bengal University of Health Sciences, DD-36, Sector-I, Salt Lake City, Kolkata-700064 and course is affiliated to the Central Council  of  Indian Medicine, New Delhi. 

Total intake -60 (75) per year, (Reservation as per Government rule) Presently, All India Quota Seat : 11 through Central Seletion (https://aaccc.gov.in) and State Quota Seat: 64 through State counseling (https://wbmcc.nic.in)

Eligibility, Course Structure, Attendance, Examination etc. are As per The Gazette of The India , (Minimum Standard of Education, February 2022)

 Internship:  (One year Rotatory compulsory internship) student will join the compulsory internship programme after passing the final BAMS examination for a period of 12 months for the award of the degree of Ayrvedacharya Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS). Stipendary internship is available as per rules of the Health and FW Department, Government of West Bengal, Stipend amount is INR 29733/- per month.

Class Hours:  9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Monday to Friday).                        9 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. (Saturday). 

*Dissection classes started at 8 am. Special Classes may be scheduled earlier also. 

Recess Time: 1.30 p.m. to 2.00 p.m. (Monday to Friday).

Summer & Puja Vacation: (Only for students): only classes will remain suspended for the period as may be prescribed as per guideline of NCISM, New Delhi.

Library:  Only 2 books can be issued for lending from the college library at a time against authorized library cards besides library reading as per instruction of the authority. Books are to be returned within 2 weeks. There is penal provision for not returning books within schedule period. At present there are more than 10,000 books at Library of this College. Moreover some rare manuscripts are also available.

 Notice Board:  Notice boards are placed at administrative office, college Building and hospital building. Students are advised to see the notice Boards regularly.

House Staff ship:  There is also a scope of stipendiary house physician ship p in both hospitals after completion of course for Registered Physicians under Paschim Banga Ayurveda Parishad as per rules of the concerned authority, Government of West Bengal.

  1. Panchakarma Assistant It is 1 year duration course, at Patipukur Ayurvedic Hospital. Yearly intake capacity- 20. The Course is affiliated to the Paschim Banga Ayurved Parishad, Govt. of West Bengal. Qualification: H.S (10+2) with Phyicics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics.
